Deep Tissue Thai Massage
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage focusing on the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also known as the connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense, either following or going across the fiber's of the muscles, tendons and fascia.. It is also a more focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or knots, also known as "adhesions", which are bands of painful, rigid tissue in muscles, tendons, and ligaments. These adhesions can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation. It is this deep and focused massage technique that helps to break up and eliminate scar tissue. Deep tissue massage concentrates on more specific areas and may cause some soreness during or right after the massage. However, if the massage is done correctly, you should feel better than ever within a day or two.
The Benefits of Deep Tissue Massage
When muscles are stressed, they block oxygen and nutrients, which leads to inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissue. A deep-tissue massage helps loosen muscle tissues, releasing toxins from muscles and getting blood and oxygen circulating properly. Because these toxins are released, it is important to drink plenty of water after a deep-tissue session to help eliminate these toxins from the body. Deep Tissue massage is both corrective and therapeutic.
Many people have said Deep Tissue massage is more effective in relieving osteoarthritis pain than physical therapy, exercise, prescription medications, chiropractic, acupuncture, diet, glucosamine and over-the-counter drugs. Many people will often notice an improved range of motion immediately after a deep tissue massage.
